CAW Community Server
Happy launch week everybody, and welcome to the murder!
Today we're extremely excited to announce and officially open the first of our full CAW features, our community discord server!
Our server will be a home for hanging out, meeting one another, doing bits, mutual aid and community building. It will be a space to share your shiny things and a chat space for the autonomously minded. It is where Vicky will host her monthly movie nights, where writing workshops and Shuli's book club will be organized. And just as importantly, we hope it will evolve to be whatever our community wants and needs it to be.
In this time of rapidly increasing authoritarianism and collapsing empire, we need as many spaces of joyous connection, togetherness, and communication as possible. Sometimes, as anarchists, our philosophy can be as simple as, "we think the basis of all true power is one another." We will often find more florid, theoretical, or militant ways to say this, but in the end, so much of anarchism boils down to: just do things; plant seeds not knowing what will bloom; build and deepen relationships.
It was friendship, a desire for one another to flourish – as well as long-standing mutual admiration for each other's work – that was the impetus for CAW. And most of the political and organizing projects in our lives emerged from friendships built over years. If any other creative projects could emerge out of or be inspired by CAW, that would be the marker of true success, and we want to build the space for that possibility.
TLDR: we made a Discord server, it's open to members, and we hope you'll use it to meet one another, to share your own music and artwork, to scheme and build and make friendships.
